— The Listening Tree Studio: Art Therapy & Psychotherapy
About me
Our Story
The Listening Tree Studio was born from a deep love of nature, creativity, and human connection. As a child in the deep South of the United States, I spent hours exploring the outdoors—making mud pies, painting with berries, and sculpting with clay I found on the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. My best friend, David, struggled with speech, and even then I saw how creativity and communication could build bridges.
I went on to graduate from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute, the first art therapy program in Canada. I am a qualifying registered psychotherapist with (CRPO).
About Me
Who We Serve
At The Listening Tree Studio, we welcome:
Children (10+)
Teens
Adults
Couples & families
Seniors
You don’t need any art experience to benefit. Art may be a foundation for our work together, but it is never a requirement. Sessions are tailored to your goals, preferences, and pace.
Our Philosophy
We believe:
Creativity is healing. Expression through art allows us to access feelings and insights that words alone cannot capture.
Communication is A human right. according to Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights every person has the right to be heard and understood.
Healing is collaborative. Therapy is a safe partnership where you are supported to explore, grow, and transform.
Nature connects us. Working with natural and eco-friendly materials helps deepen our connection to the earth and to ourselves.

What You Need to Know About Me & How I Work
At The Listening Tree Studio, my approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect. Here’s what you can expect when we work together:
Human First
I am a person before I am a therapist—imperfect, always learning, and committed to practicing self-compassion and extending compassion to others.
Your Privacy Matters
I will never share a client’s artwork on social media or this website. The creative work you make in session belongs to you and is private. Any artwork you see here is created by me, or from open workshops where explicit permission was given.
Connection Through Care
Sometimes I may share a small part of my own journey if it feels like it could help deepen our connection or support your process. But therapy is always about you.
Your Voice Matters
I encourage you to self-advocate, ask questions, challenge me, and speak up if something doesn’t feel right. You don’t need to arrive with goals or a plan—we can discover that together.
You Are Not Broken
I don’t believe in “fixing” people. We are all works in progress, and therapy is about growth, healing, and self-discovery, not perfection.
The Right Fit is Important
If at any point you feel I’m not the right therapist for you, I will personally help you find someone who is. You never need to feel guilty about this—it’s about what serves you best.
Trauma-Informed
I see the world through a trauma-informed lens, honoring safety, trust, choice, empowerment, and cultural humility.
Open Communication
The more you share your thoughts and feelings with me, the more I can guide you in ways that truly support your journey.
